Emergency Plough Dredging at Amlwch Harbour
Following a powerful easterly storm that deposited a significant amount of silt into Amlwch Harbour, the navigation channels and pens became severely restricted—making it difficult for pilot boats to operate at low water.
Port Dinorwic’s workboat, Coastrunner responded swiftly with an emergency plough dredging operation to restore safe access after removing more than 1m of silt material from the bottom of the harbour. Our team worked efficiently to clear the buildup, ensuring the harbour was operational once again.
